Le Vizir Center Parc & Resort in Marrakech has 3 types of rooms:

The Club Suite - This consists of a master double bedroom with en-suite as well as living room with a double-sized pull out sofa bed. Some of these rooms come with a balcony. Family occupancy: 2 Adults & 2 Children

The Solarium Suite- This consists of 2 bedrooms either with double or twin beds & a living room with a double-sized pull out sofa bed. This room type only has one bathroom. As well as a balcony, this room type has a solarium upstairs, with sink, outdoor shower, sunbeds and even table & chairs to enjoy a meal. The stairs to the solarium are quite steep. Maximum occupancy: Total family size of six, up to 4 adults & 2 children.

The Garden Suite - This consists of 2 bedrooms with a master en-suite bedroom with double bed, a second bedroom with twin beds and a double sized pull out sofa bed in the living room. It also has an additional wet-room with toilet. The rooms open out onto the gardens and make accessing the pool area easier, without compromising on the safety of your toddler. Maximum Occupancy: Family of 6, up to 4 adults & 2 children.

All the rooms have a living space with sofas, flat screen TV and dining table. The rooms are air-conditioned/heated. You will not find a high chair in the rooms, but you can take along a travel booster if you require one. High chairs are available in the restaurant.

They also have a small kitchenette with full sized fridge-freezers, electric hob, oven and sink. You may need to request they turn on the electric oven or cooker for you.

There is no kettle in the rooms. You can take travel kettle with you or purchase one at the Carrefour Supermarket for around £15. If you really have to have your tea the British way.

An iron is available from the reception.

There is no dedicated steriliser for baby bottles. Find our tips on this and more in our free 'Travel Smart' E-Book. Whole Long-Life milk is available from the restaurant for your little ones. They can warm it too.

Living rooms have a Flat screen TV however only news channels in English are available. Although portable DVD players may be used.

Shampoo, shower gels & lotion are available in the bathrooms. There is also a hair-drier.

Room service is available, so you can enjoy a meal in your own room dining area. Great if you have to stay in with the kids.

Where to Book:
Le Vizir has become very popular since we first visited. As a result, there are many booking agents offering good deals for rooms. We do suggest to book at least the Bed & Breakfast rate, since this usually offers the best value.
Booking Sites include: www.booking.com ; www.expedia.co.uk
The hotel can also be booked directly, through their website. Please note that you usually have to pay a city night tax when you stay here, or anywhere in Marrakech. This is around 2 Euros per night, per person. Children under 12 are exempt. Check if you hotel provider includes this, so you don't have any nasty surprises on check out. Also be careful that you are buying the right room for your family size, since some hotel providers online actively sell the wrong room types for the family size.

Things to Do
Hotel Facilities:
The hotel has its own swimming pool, lined with sun loungers, for exclusive use of the guests staying there. Snacks and meals can be ordered. The reception staff are always happy to assist you. There is a free shuttle which drops you outside a Carrefour Supermarket, near Place de la Liberte, about 15 minutes walk from the Medina (old town) or head to Gueliz (new part) in Marrakech. Please book the shuttle for your family the day before, so you are more likely to get the times you want. Ask the reception for a map and keep the hotels information with you, in case you get lost. The hotel can also book you a taxi upon request.
The Park Facilities:
As well as the hotel, guests can access the park which has a pirate-themed pool, women-only pool, kids club, gym, the Jasmine Spa & Hamam, trampolines, zip-wire, sand park, archery, tennis courts and a restaurant. The kids club runs some activities for ages 4 - 8 years. You can supervise your younger kids there.
Food & Drink:
A good variety breakfast is served at the restaurant for hotel guests who are on a B&B rate. Lunch & dinner are also available there. They offer both a menu and an a la carte option. No alcohol is served. There is a reasonable selection of food options which are a good price for a hotel, including chips & pizza.

Essaouira Lodge, Essaouira
Great All Year Round
Essaouira Lodge is located about 20 minutes away from the main beach area & the town. There a number of buildings, set in lush gardens. The Main Pool House has a year round heated pool with a smaller pool for toddlers.
Room Types:

Suites - One double bedroom plus a baby bed or cot.

Two Bedroom Apartments - Two double or twin rooms. Capacity for extra child bed. Can fit a family of five.

Two or Three Bedroom Houses - On the ground floor is 1 double bedroom and 1 twin bedroom. The house is larger than the apartment with its own garden. It can be made into a 3 -bed house, by the addition of an upstairs suite. The access to this suite is via an outside staircase, so the 3-bed house may not be suitable for families with young children.

Three Bedroom Private Pool Villas- 2 double rooms & 1 triple room all set on one floor, with an internal garden and large outdoor terraces, which are not overlooked. The private sun-heated pool is 6 x 3 metres, is also not overlooked. It is around 1.5 metres deep. There is no guard rail around the pool itself, although access is mostly restricted by doors from the rooms. Upstairs, is a massive solarium. Occupancy is usually 7 people but extra beds may be added on request.

Five Bedroom Private Pool Villas - The 3-bedroom pool villas can be upgraded to 5 bedrooms by the addition of 2 suites. The suites can offer some privacy, yet still be part of the villa. Occupancy is usually 12 people but extra beds may be added.

There are a growing number of glowing reviews for Essaouira Lodge available on www.tripadvisor.com and other booking websites. It is a really great place to stay for families, even in the colder months. Teamed with visits to Essaouira Beach town, this is a wonderful holiday destination for families. Please note that there are pebbled walkways at the Lodge, which may difficult for those with reduced mobility.
Where to Book:
Whilst a number of booking sites offer rates for Essaouira Lodge, we have found booking with them directly cheaper. They have superb customer relations and will always respond promptly to enquiries, such as the addition of an extra bed.
